I always wanted a Willys pickup, but I never thought I would own one. When the opportunity came along, I searched the Internet and classified adds for a truck to restore. Fortunately, the West Coast Willys club put me in touch with a truck located near by, resting in the redwoods and fog along the California coast.

Although the truck was a bit rough, in my mind it was perfect.  Nearly stock, moderate rust and lots of character.

Nice Seats! Notice the original door and kick panels. Also, look at the moss growing on the left side door pillar.   There were multiple sets of wiring. The light in the six volt radio came on when I applied power to it!     The previous owner said that there were several upset rodents protesting after the Willys was towed from his yard. I found acorns everywhere in the Willys, including one in the intake manifold.

Well, I decided I wanted this truck to be a part of the family.  However, as part of the family it had to be dependable to handle it’s share of the chores as well as participate in the fun.  So, began my (and my families) journey to learn about the unique personality of this truck and the mystique of Willys Overland.  I have come to learn, everybody has a Willys story!

The Willys leaving it's home in the trees and going to it's new home with us.

Time to get the new friend home!
